abcmidi software package provides converter from ABC to MIDI format and back, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install abcmidi
abcmidi is installed in your system.
Make ensure the abcmidi package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep abcmidi *
You will get with abcmidi package name, version, architecture and description in a table
